Design of Watermark File Encoding Application on Digital Image Utilising Discrete Cosine Transform (DCT) Algorithm

Digital image processing by combining watermarks in the current era of information technology is considered a breakthrough to meet the primary and secondary needs of information media users either for social media needs or to add security to data ownership. A model is built in such a way as to ensure the safety of digital image data because copyright theft, forgery, and engineering in digital images are becoming increasingly frequent cases that occur both directly and indirectly. An authentication or identity of the owner will be built to protect digital images. One way that is widely used is by applying watermark insertion. Watermarking is used to insert items of information or to indicate the ownership authority of a digital image. Watermarking is visible and some cannot be visually seen by the human senses. Watermarking is also able to withstand various attacks that intend to remove the inserted information. The need for copyright protection is used to perform copyright protection on data and information. The watermarking method will be built with the DCT (Discrete Cosine Transform) method. This research will insert an encoded text file or digital image file, where the file is invisible to the eye and does not change the original image.
